In 2021 we introduced He Hui Mihimihi meetings to begin the school year.
Our He Hui Mihimihi are designed to support our tamariki, kaiako and whānau to build a learning relationship from day 1. The aim is to build a genuine home school partnership for all of our whānau. These will be held before school begins on the 2nd and 3rd of February.
Booking your meeting: The booking form for each whānau to book their 25 minute private He Hui Mihimihi with their tamariki’s 2021 teacher is now open. https://cardinalmckeefry.schoolzineplus.com/view-session/3
While we would prefer to have these meetings kanohi te kanohi (face to face), if your familiy is going to be out of Wellington we can organise online meetings.
Preparing: You and your tamariki will have a pre- He Hui Mihimihi guide to work through over the summer holidays.
You will also have a Hauora Backpack as part of our localised curriculum consultation. The Backpack will have two tools packed in it already – Faith and Culture. You can choose up to 6 more tools you wish your tamaiti will have when they graduate as a Year 8 from Cardinal McKeefry School. There will be a variety of tools you can choose on the page and spaces for you to draw your own.
Please bring both the He Hui Mihimihi guide and the Hauora Backpack with you to your meeting.
Process: Within the He Hui Mihimihi you will be able to discuss with your tamariki and set goals for 2021. You will also reconnect with our Spotlight reporting tool and discuss how you can be a part of this through parent comments. After the meeting you will then move to the library to update all your contact information, permission slips and payments with Jo and Estelle. Please set aside 20 minutes either before or after your He Hui Mihimihi for this prior to 4:45pm.
On the 10th of February we will celebrate our first whole school gathering with our Beginning of Year Blessing in our school hall at 9am.
