One of the best things about our Garden to Table programme is the support we receive from Victoria. She recently came to our celebration and wrote us this lovely letter.
Dear Room 2,
Thank you for inviting me to your celebratory meal today. I cannot believe you have only been doing Garden to Table for 2 terms. Your garden looks amazing and you have such a variety of different vegetables growing. I love the way you are extending your garden space into the front garden by the office. That shows everybody that you are proud of what you do in Garden to Table and that everybody can grow vegetables to eat in any space. It also shows visitors that you are a growing school – it will be the first thing they see.
The food you cooked today was delicious. I am amazed at how well you can chop now. I love watching how many people want seconds at GTT time – how many of you were fussy eaters before and now you are happy to try anything, at least once? I also love seeing how much initiative you take when you have to prepare for a meal, setting the table, cleaning up spilled food, doing the dishes. They are all important jobs too.
Miss Wylie and I are now worried that you will be too good for Food Tech when you get to year 7 and 8. We are working on fixing this for you.
Well done everyone. Can you thank John and Jenny and Miss Wylie for me too, they help you to make all of this happen.
If you can do all of this in 2 terms, I can’t wait to see what you will manage to do next year.
