Space Odyssey for Rooms 3,4 and 5

October 27, 2016 By Tania Savage

Allen went to Pluto and he went past Saturn, Mars, the moon and Uranus on his space mission. It looked fun and cool. Deep and I were playing with the ball and it went into the hole. You could do it again and again. It was teaching us about gravity.
Sam

“What should we do?” I asked Vandita. She didn’t know so we wandered around the gallery. We found a bit of the moon. It was damp and flat and whitey grey and very, very dull. It looked new but it was old. I felt happy that I had touched the moon.
Alisha

Ava and I looked at the planet trip game and then we looked at the screens.
“I wonder if the stars are bright?” I thought. Ava found a little telescope and I saw little circles in it. I thought they were planets.
Piper

When I first stepped into amazing Space Place I was shocked because it was super cool. Juliette first talked to us then we went into the planetarium. She told us to sit in some perfect seats, so we did. I knew something fun was going to happen. So we settled in then looked at a big dome on the roof and a movie started. It was about the beautiful planets and the big hot sun. We had an amazing time in the dome.

Education Review Office

October 10, 2016 By Tania Savage

At the end of Term 2 we hosted the ERO team. It was a wonderful experience to show off our lovely school. We have received our confirmed report and I am delighted to say that we are now on the regular 3 year review cycle. A few highlights from the ERO team report are:
“The good relationships between the board and staff and their commitment to improvement are positive factors for supporting future direction. These relationships are based on trust and open conversations”.
and
“Students are well engaged in settled classrooms, where they take responsibility for themselves and others. Progress has been made to empower students to take ownership of their learning. Students are involved with setting goals and sharing their progress with their parents”.
I would like to acknowledge the teachers and Board of Trustees, past and present, for their amazing support. I would also like to acknowledge our wider community who have supported the changes in practice the teaching staff have implemented over the past year. We have shared a link to the report and encourage you to read it.
