On Wednesday, 10th of August, I delivered the money raised for the Wellington City Mission from the bake sale. They were very grateful to receive the $181.50. The money will be used to buy food for the food bags that the mission gives to people who need them. Most of the goods are donated but sometimes the mission needs to buys extra goods such as spreads. This is a photo of me standing in front of some food bags that are ready to go. They also give a big bag of fruit and vegetables and some fresh bread.
The mission is open every day for breakfast and lunch and some lunchtimes they have the same number of people come for lunch that we have at our school! Everyone receives some food for free. Many of the people who go there also enjoy the company of the other people who are there. Themission always welcomes donations and you can find out more about the work they do at their website – www.wellingtoncitymission.org.
Thanks again to everyone who bought our baking and for the donations. Special thanks to Caitlin, Chantelle and Sathmi who helped with baking and selling.

Update – we have just discovered that we raised enough money for 45 meals! Well done Cardinal McKeefry.
