Term 3

The new term started well on Monday 19th.  Already we’re well into our programme of work.  Science is the key topic for this term.

Life Education

The last week of term had a health focus, with specially themed  lessons in the Wellington Life Education caravan.   The themes were:  Year 1-2 – Air to Live;  Year 3-4 – Heart Central; Year 4-5  Brainy Bunch; Year 7- 8 – Keeping a Balance.

Cross Country

We combined with Northland School for a Cross Country run recently to help us pick our runners for the Western Zone event.  That was a fun morning and showed some serious runners from both our schools.

Great Illustrator

This week Year 5-8 students were fortunate to have a workshop with well known childrens illustrator, David Elliot.  Some excellent advice was given and now students are working on black and white illustrations for some recent great writing that they’ve done.

Term 2

Today students, staff and parents came together to pray and reflect on the events of Holy Week and Easter.  Music, mime and dance interspersed with scripture and prayer set the scene and reminded us of the key events that make up the great time of Easter in the Christian Church.

The Arts

Our Years 4 – 8 are fortunate to be attending some International Festival of the Arts performances.  Year 5-6 students loved Echoa last week and are currently experimenting with various percussive moves accompanied by their own amazing sound effects.
